The Salters’ Fellowship is to be awarded to an exceptional UK Masters student from a disadvantaged background.
Lucy Cavendish College, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and inclusivity, is proud to announce a new partnership with the Worshipful Company of Salters.
Together, we are launching the Salters’ Fellowship, a scholarship worth £10,000, which is specifically designed to support a talented UK student from a disadvantaged background who studied Chemistry (including Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry) for their undergraduate degree.
The scholarship will enable its recipient to pursue a one-year Masters degree at Lucy Cavendish College in a complementary subject such as engineering (e.g. chemical, electrical, mechanical), artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science/information technology, accountancy, finance, business management, economics, law, nanoscience/technology, data management, or modern languages.
This scholarship initiative reflects both Lucy Cavendish College's dedication to fostering diversity in STEM fields and the Worshipful Company of Salters' longstanding commitment to supporting educational opportunities.
By removing financial barriers for talented students from underprivileged backgrounds, the Salters’ Fellowship will empower them to pursue postgraduate studies and embark on successful careers in fields that are crucial for innovation and progress.
“The Worshipful Company of Salters is delighted to make this award possible, in partnership with Lucy Cavendish College. The Salters’ Fellowship aims to break financial barriers for gifted, underprivileged STEM students, fostering innovation and progress by supporting their postgraduate ambitions. It's a commitment to empowering capable minds towards contributing significantly to our collective future – we cannot wait to hear what impact its recipients will have on the world.” - Dr Keith Lloyd, Co-Founder & Trustee of the Salters' Fellowship Permanent Endowment Fund, The Worshipful Company of Salters
We look forward to welcoming exceptional candidates to our community and supporting their academic journey through the Salters’ Fellowship.
