The Ballot 2025 Group Structure
The criteria described below are based on your anticipated student status in the next academic year (2025/26).
The tier structure will determine a student’s position in the Room Ballot. Students in the Purple Group will have the highest priority and thus will be allocated a room earlier in the Ballot. Please refer to the chart below (Of note: Medics and Vets are listed separately due to the unique structure of their courses).

Female only Accommodation
Please note that during the Ballot 2025 College will offer housing designated for female students only. If a male student selects a female-only room, their application will be removed from the ballot. They will only be offered rooms that remain available after the ballot process concludes.
IMPORTANT – Please note – you must be up to date with your rent payments to secure accommodation for 2025/26. If you have any questions about financial support, please visit the link below or reach out to the Student Finance Team at: studentfinance@lucy.cam.ac.uk or visit Search | Lucy Cavendish.
Room Ballot Webpage
The Room Ballot Webpage will provide a live view of available rooms. If a room has already been selected by another student, its status will be displayed as "Reserved".
After reserving a room, you will be able to change your selection until the ballot closes, (unless you are a part of a group). Please note that you are only able to reserve one room at the time, so ensure your new selection is available prior to cancelling your current reservation.
The IT team will lead a demo of the ballot site as part of the Q&A sessions on Monday 10-Feb-2025.
The room ballot will close on Monday 24-Mar-2025 when your selection will be forwarded to the Accommodation Team for processing. Once you receive your Occupancy License, you will have 7 calendar days to review and accept your license.
We will aim to process all ballot room selections by Friday 25-Apr-2025. If you do not receive your occupancy license by this date, please contact us at ballot2025@lucy.cam.ac.uk.
