What can office rents tell us about the agglomeration effect?
Lucy student, Jana Hochel, talks about her research on office space rent, emerging digitisation, and the pandemic.
Research Day was a huge success with fascinating presentations across a range of disciplines.
Free and open to all, it presented an opportunity for research to reach a wider audience; a short Q&A session after each talk enabled participants to dig deeper into specific areas of interest. The event was also live-streamed to an online audience.
Kindly sponsored by AstraZeneca, prizes were awarded for the best talk and best blog.
Winner of the best presentation was Georgina Leadley.
The judges said about the winner:
“Excellent communication with the audience. Good use of powerpoint and the hands-on element. Good lay-audience intro”
“Clear methodical relevant hypothesis-driven research. Excellent presentation”.
To wrap up the event, guest speaker Dr Giles Yeo (Principal Research Associate at MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit and a Scientific Director of the Genomics/Transcriptomics Core at the University of Cambridge) gave a fascinating talk on the communication of science and public engagement.
Below you can find pictures of the event and more information on each of the presentations. Over the coming weeks, we will post articles from those who entered our research blog competition, including the winner, Miriam Dzah.
