Dining hall and café

The kitchen is open every weekday lunchtime throughout the year, with the exception of short breaks at Christmas and Easter. Weekends during Term, we are open for Brunch on Saturdays, and for Sunday lunch.

You may enjoy dining with friends and colleagues.

The menu

There is always a choice of hot food, sandwiches, soup, salads & pudding (healthy choices available), including options for vegetarians and vegans. We send out a menu in advance every week during Term, and our chef caters for a wide variety of dietary requirements.

All our food is sourced from best practice suppliers and we track and display the CO2 generated in production and transportation. Whenever possible we also source our produce locally. Read our catering team's blog here.

Café/Bar

The Café in the new build is open 8am-9pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 9pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday (during Term). We offer have a great selection of paninis, wraps, toasties, homemade cakes, barista coffee and more. Food is served until 9pm.

Out of Term, the café opening times are 10am to 2pm (Monday to Friday). Bar opening times are 6.30pm to 11pm.

It's a great environment for relaxed study and socialising.

During Term, students can also visit the Nautilus Bar in Oldham Hall, open Thursdays and Fridays 8pm to 11pm, and Saturdays 7pm to 11pm.

You can also buy hot drinks and snacks from the vending machines in the Oldham Hall Common Room, open 24-hours.

Costs

Lucy Cavendish College students can use their University card funds on breakfast, lunch, supper and Formal Hall for you and your guests. All our meals offer good value for money and we offer a great variety of freshly made food.

Students who have a balance from previous MMC on their card will be able to access their balance until 1 year after their original expected graduation date.

Students who do not have any previous MMC funds can pay for catering options as follows:

During term time

We serve lunch at the servery at Warburton Hall from 12:30pm until 1:45pm, Monday to Friday, with delicious, healthy, homemade meals. We always have vegetarian and vegan options, and you can let us know if you have any other specific requirements.

We serve informal evening supper from 6pm to 7:30pm, Monday to Wednesday.

On Thursdays and Fridays, we have Formal Hall. This is a great part of your College experience, so make sure you participate! We cater to all kinds of dietary requirements, which you can request when booking.

We also have Brunch on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm, and traditional Sunday Roast from 12:30pm to 2pm, both in the Hall.

Formal Halls

All students, Alumni, Associates and Emeritus Fellows are very welcome at Formal Hall which occur on Thursdays and Fridays during Term.
