Girish Menon succeeds Professor Dame Madeleine Atkins who has provided inspirational leadership to the College and its community during her seven-year tenure. Madeleine commented “Under Girish’s leadership, Lucy Cavendish College will undoubtedly further advance its mission, strengthening its role as a trailblazer of inclusive academic excellence and innovative support for students.”

Evidencing his enthusiasm for the role, Girish said: "I am deeply inspired by Lucy Cavendish’s  unwavering commitment to its historic mission. At its core lies a powerful vision: to reach and empower exceptional students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK and across the world, ensuring they have meaningful access to the transformative, globally outstanding education that is provided at the University of Cambridge. I am excited to be joining the Lucy community.”
