STEMM students at Lucy Cavendish made the most of “May Week” this year by taking the opportunity to learn more about the local Life Sciences cluster.
A dozen students took part in site visits on Wednesday 21 June to three of our Lucy Cavendish Life Sciences Community organisations – Alchemab, Domainex and Phoremost. The students heard about the companies’ missions and science, their organisations and roles available, and took part in lab tours.
Proceedings closed with an afternoon tea kindly hosted by Unity Campus. Representatives of all the Life Sciences Community joined the students and Unity Campus team to celebrate the programme’s activity this academic year.
Lucy students, both undergraduates and graduates, really appreciated the informative experience.
Emma, who is just completing her biological sciences PhD, said “A huge thanks Alchemab, Domainex, PhoreMost and the Unity Campus team for giving us tours and answering our questions. It really helped my understanding of the commercial research environment and I can't wait to get a job in industry!”
