Senior Research Associate
Marta’s research focus is on understanding animal behaviour, with a particular interest in the circuits responsible for innate behaviours. Working with a simple model organism, the fruit fly, she is applying connectomic approaches to describe all the neurons and their connections in the fly’s central nervous system. This work will generate the biggest wiring diagram - a connectome - produced so far. This framework will enable us to have a much richer understanding of the neurons involved in particular behavioural circuits, and how they operate.
