Ran Wei is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Engineering. Ran’s position is supported by the Digital Roads Prosperity Partnership, a business-led £8.6m research project, supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Ran is leading the Digital Twins team to develop a model-based solution for the digital twin of the strategic road network of the UK to facilitate efficient asset management and efficient road inspection and repair.

Ran holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of York (United Kingdom). His research interests include model-based systems engineering, model-based system assurance, safety critical systems engineering. He is an active contributor of two international standards, the Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) from the Assurance Case Work Group (UK), and the Structured Assurance Case Metamodel (SACM) from the Object Management Group (US).
