Yaoyao is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Engineering at University of Cambridge. Since her PhD, her research interests have been focused on providing energy-saving and low emission solutions to conventional power generation and manufacturing plants. Her current research is on developing clean approaches to producing carbon-free fuels including hydrogen and ammonia by fundamentally removing the reliance on fossil fuels. This will lead to a significant reduction in carbon emissions and energy cost. Her research has the potential to produce evidence to underpin hydrogen and ammonia economy and ultimately, contributing to the decarbonisation goals and sustainable energy supply in the UK and beyond.
In addition to research, Yaoyao is also very interested in teaching. Since 2016, she has been supervising students’ projects (e.g. fluidisation, combustion, adsorption) both at Engineering and Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.
In her spare time, Yaoyao likes cooking, hiking, and traveling.
