Caitlin Law joins the admissions team as the new Schools Liaison Officer - she tells us about her access and outreach plans.

Caitlin Law joins the admissions team this month as the new Schools Liaison Officer, tasked with building and maintaining relationships with schools, colleges and access charities, and reaching out to applicants from all backgrounds.

Previously Caitlin has worked as a student ambassador and then Access and Outreach intern as an undergrad at Oxford, before completing a PGCE in Modern Languages at Cambridge last year. Her role as a trainee teacher was a fantastic opportunity to work with young people as well as gain some first-hand experience in education.

Commenting on her new role Caitlin said:

“I’m really excited to join the College at such an important time in its history as we look forward to welcoming both men and women of school leaving age in 2021. My main aim in my new role is to help students navigate the Cambridge application process, as well as emphasise that there is no set type of person who should be aiming for top universities.”

Lucy Bunker, Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator said:

“I’m very excited to welcome Caitlin to the team – her experience of working in schools will provide valuable insights into our work.”

If you’re interested in applying to Cambridge or supporting a young person with their application, Caitlin would be delighted to hear from you. We are committed to our access and outreach programme, welcome visits to our college and we’re also keen to travel to schools across the country.
