Post-16 Subject Choice Guidance
The A-Level/IB/equivalent subject choices that students make can have a major impact on their course and university options. Selective universities such as the University of Cambridge often require applicants to have qualifications in certain subjects, or combinations of subjects, because they prepare students more effectively for degree courses. We hope that our comprehensive subject choice guidance is useful in helping students and their advisors to identify the most suitable subjects that will enable them to make the most competitive applications for Cambridge and other highly selective universities.
